My conclusion is that I'm far better served by the Acoustica drum kit selection (I have Mixcraft 6 Studio), because with some applied EQ, compression and reverb I can at least achieve a nice big authentic sound.

Unfortunately, this free download is stuck with only one (lame) drum kit. So much for this being correctly equalized already! To get it sounding reasonably okay I have to kill the 8khz band completely and give some boost at 63khz.

The kick drum sounds a bit powder-puff, with far too much high frequency content around the 8khz band that reveals a metallic click sound, and putting it though a compressor just brings this out even more. The floor tom has no depth, sounding far too shallow, so I had to give the 125hz band a massive 18dB boost (all the way up with the Acoustica EQ) in order to get it sounding anywhere near decent. As for the crash cymbals, they are just lightweight and limp. It sounds like someone has removed the snare (the loose spring that straps on underneath), which ends up making it sound like a tom with too much high-mids applied.

My manual adjustments proved just as chaotic. the left crash is, by default, mapped to C#2, but it plays at C#3, and the rim-shot (Side-Stick) plays at C#2 but is mapped at C#1. The mapping feature in 'Settings' is all over the place too, whereby the octaves in midi are referenced wrongly, eg. They claim they've set up the eq correctly, but it's just plain wrong, and the inbuilt compressor controls do nothing. Well done on choosing MT, its the best drum software out there, enjoy.I'm not surprised they gave up trying to make any money out of this because the quality is mediocre, and I would imagine the demands for a refund were appearing in droves. Some people choose other locations, it's just important that you put the location of the VST in the path, located in "Prferences>VST". I've got all my 64-bit VST files in a folder I called "VST" that I've placed in "C:/Program Files". The first time you open the plugin it will display a code that you have to enter on the power kit website to generate an activation key.

You need to put them in a totally different location. The MT Power Drum Kit 2 is available in VST and AU formats, and it comes in 32 and 64 bit versions.

If you're putting the MT Power kit folder in the Reaper plugins foleder, that won't work.
#MT POWER DRUMKIT 2 LOGIC INSTALL INSTALL#
it doesn't install anything, just extracts and the 2 folders are moved to reaper. any help ? thanks in advance.Īlso someone said you can run the MT Power Drum Kit 2 plugin in standalone mode, but I cant see any way to run it that way. I tried to make a new folder called mt drum plugins in the plugins folder and put the files in there, added it in reaper scan and tried again, no ied this in reaper on windows 7 and 8.1. once it showed a progress bar for a bit but then it disappeared. when I click to scan it just quickly flashes a window then disappears. I tried to scan for it, or clear cache and scan, don't help. I extracted it and put the 2 folders(mt-powerdrumkit.dll and ), it says into the "plugins" folder in reaper and it does not show up there under VST or VSTI or anything. though I got the free MT Power Drum Kit 2 plugin and tried to install in reaper but something not working.
